I’ve been looking forward to sharing Kara and Kris’ wedding with you for awhile! It was great to have the opportunity to photograph this wonderful bride and groom. Kara has been following our blog for awhile, and it was exciting and inspiring to work with someone whose style is so similar to our own! I was excited to see all her DIY details unfold throughout the day.
The Ceremony and Reception were held at the Whitley House Bed and Breakfast in Qualicum Beach. We can’t say enough great things about this place! The house itself was beautiful, and has just recently been remodelled, although the best part of the venue is the space provided for both an outdoor ceremony and white tent reception. It is the perfect reception location for couples looking for a down to earth west coast wedding venue.

The rustic bouquets and boutonnieres came from Petal & Kettle. I loved the blackberries, green sunflowers, and lavender!

Kara & Kris had a travel theme woven throughout their day. At the wedding reception the guests placed envelopes and gifts for the couple into a vintage trunk. The tables were represented by provinces, and the cake stand was lined with map print.

Kris’ family came out to the westcoast from Newfoundland, and brought with them some fantastic and *entertaining* traditions. Guests were asked to choose between kissing a cod or taking a shot of screech in order for the couple to kiss for them. After the person would have to yell
“Kiss’er Boy!” The reception started off with everyone almost laughing to tears. Here is Kara’s grandma eager to see her grand daughter kiss her new groom!

Kara & Kris we wish the two of you all the best in your new marriage. We are honoured to have been a part of this fabulous and fun wedding day!
